Bartender Competition Rules & Info “09”
Entry Fees Must Be Paid At Time Of Registration $25.00
(Includes Free Entry To Martini Festival) Non Refundable. (Make Checks Payable To Jellyfish Bar/Martini Fest.
Prior To The Event Bartenders Must Look Over Stocked
Items At The Jellyfish Bar, Any Non Premier Beverage Products Or Extra Ingredients Must Be Brought By Bartender For Competition
Must Be Present And Signed In By 1:30pm, November 7th , 2009 At The Jellyfish Bar
At Sign In You Will Need To Fill Out Your Ingredients Basket Card That Lists What You Will Need For Us To Provide During The Competition. (All Non Stocked Or Non Premier Beverage Items Must Be Brought On Your Own. This Includes Any Prepped Items Or Garnishes Outside The Normal Fruit Tray. Also, At Sign In Make Sure You Have Provided All Dj/Mc Info.
Bartenders Will Have 3 Minutes To Make The Best Martini And Also Pour 5 Samples
One Martini For Each Judge. All Items Can Be Placed Or Set Up Before Time Starts (We Suggest A Check List) There Will Be A Two Point Deduction After 3 Minutes
After The Bartender Makes His/Her Martini And While The Judges Are Scoring It; The Bartender Will Take Their Martini To The Auction Table. With The Assistance Of A Representative From The Martini Festival, They Will Auction Off That Martini To The Crowd. This Does Not Affect The Score But Does Increase The Overall Purse For The Winner.
Five Judges Will Be Giving A ( 1 – 5 ) Score For The Following 4 Categories.
A Score Of 20 Is The Highest Possible Per Judge And Total. A Perfect Score From All 5 Judges Would Total 100
- PRESENTATION (How it looks)
- MIXOLOGY (What goes into it simple or complex)
- ORIGINALITY (Something text book or personal creation)
- TASTE (It has to taste good)
The Judges Will Rate Each Bartender's Drink Individually As Completed. After All Bartenders Have Completed, Then The Scores Will Be Collected, Tallied And Announced.
In The Event Of A Tie:
Bartenders Must Be Prepared To Make A Second Martini To Be Judged In The Same Fashion As The First Martini
All Scores Will Be Posted At The Winner's Table At End Of The Event
Winning Martini And Its Creator Will Be Published And Promoted As The Best Bartender On The Gulf Coast.
Be Ready For Many Photo Ops During This Event And In The Event Of A Win, A Full Photo Shoot With Representatives From Liquor Companies, Distributors, And The Martini Festival.
Drink Recipe From The Winner Must Be In Detail For Publishing
There Will Also Be Side Competitions For Prizes
These Do Not Affect The Total Score Of The Main Event
